How drones can help improve Earth observation satellite data
Every day, satellites all over the world are helping us learn more about what’s happening on the ground. Good satellite imagery relies on high-quality data, and that’s where calibration and validation comes in.
In this video, we head out to Calperum Station, South Australia, to visit an international team testing how drones can make sure our satellite data is accurate.

Scientists sail into a bloom of salps off Tasmania
Переглядів 4722 місяці тому
Scientists on CSIRO research vessel (RV) Investigator encountered this bloom of salps during an underwater camera survey of marine life off SE Australia. The salps were spotted near surface waters as the camera - called a Deep Towed Camera - was being recovered back onto the ship at the end of the survey (which was being conducted at night in Bass Strait near Flinders Island). Salps are a gelat...

This is my home.
Great time lapse with nice music. Love the ending!!
He committed cannibalism
I think these colossal squids only become visible to human eyes after they mate. The males swim as if exhausted after a long time of mating and the germinated females descend to the bottom.
The fact that its that fast is crazy
I love how Neal is basically a bully that the town just accepts. 😂 What an adorable "contract" those townfolks have with him.
this is why squidward is parentless💀

Tried the cold press pink lady apple juice. Surprisingly light, clean and clear taste. Best apple juice i've tasted. Looking forward to buying more!
Evolution and logic imma head out
They look like Humboldts.
Fascinating work! It's incredible to see the collaboration between drones and satellites for accurate data. Calibration and validation are crucial steps in ensuring reliable satellite imagery. Keep pushing the boundaries of technology and exploration! 🌍🛰
It was 10 years ago and youtube has recommanded me July 1 2024, -Thats not bad-
Im afriad of that one squid called thr magnipinna
Adorable! 😂
I’m amazed they’re so energised during the day. I thought they were nocturnal…
make it float drag it with a boat ?
Thats awesome
Got to love science 👍 (including climate science, of course).
Squeeee! 🥰

Just me, or is it blue? Never seen that before.
Mom Like Saying Your In Trouble I Told You Not To Mess With That. 😂

I would love to see an updated version of this video. It's fantastic, but it starts to feel a little older. Such an excellent video.
That’s crazy!
This is the fun side. If CSIRO is worried about its dark side we should be told more about it. There's a fun side to many risks in life.......
A new way to see brain actually 😜
Within 2 seconds, plants under water recycling, catching, releasing a gas. I watch the rest of the story now.
Treeyonce!!
